Experiential Learning

The College of Charleston is all in on experiential learning. In fact, 95% of our students will complete at least one experiential learning opportunity before they graduate.

Whether you're interested in research, finding a service learning opportunity, studying abroad or diving into an internship, the School of Education has so many opportunities for you to get real-world experience.

LEARN BY DOING

Students studying education have plenty of opportunities to study abroad.

Think labs are just for science majors? Think again. Students studying early childhood education get real-world experience in their learning laboratory - the N.E. Miles Early Childhood Education Center. As an undergraduate student, you'll also have the opportunity to apply for grants and other opportunities through Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities.

Build your skills through the Teacher Leader Program. This competitive program fosters the professional development of highly motivated students by providing them with challenging, extracurricular opportunities in the education community.

The Urban School Synergy program partners with Title I schools in Charleston County to prepare students to make a difference in urban Title I schools.
