You’ll earn a master’s degree and get certified to teach in public schools. We have three programs to choose from: early childhood education, performing arts and our 13-month M.A.T. in elementary education.

Initial Certification Graduate Degrees (for candidates without a teaching certificate)
- Early Childhood Education (M.A.T.) - Inspire children in Pre-K through third grade.
- Elementary Education (M.A.T.) - Complete this accelerated program in just over a calendar year and teach in second through sixth grades.
- Performing Arts (M.A.T.) - Bring your undergraduate degree or equivalent experiences in music or theatre and learn to teach Pre-K through twefth grade.
Graduate Degrees (for certified teachers or community educators)
- Languages (M.Ed.) - Fully online program with concentrations in Spanish or English for speakers of other languages.
- Science and Math for Educators (M.Ed.) - Advanced science and math skills for P12 teachers and community educators (e.g. museums, zoos, etc.).
- Teaching, Learning and Advocacy (M.Ed.) - Advanced teacher leadership and student advocacy skills for P12 teachers and community educators.
Graduate Certificates*
- Graduate Certificate in English to Speakers of Other Languages - Learn to work with English language learners locally and abroad.
- Graduate Certificate in Gifted and Talented Education - Learn to identify and challenge high achieving students.
- Graduate Certificate in Special Education - Learn to differentiate schooling for students' learning, emotional and/or intellectual disabilities.
*Candidates who hold a valid South Carolina teaching certificate may apply for add-on certification upon completion of all courses required by S.C. and upon passing the appropriate professional assessment(s).
