Explore the physical, social, intellectual and emotional development of young children. Get hands-on experience and conduct research with dedicated faculty.
As an early childhood education major, you'll learn how to be a skilled classroom instructor or pursue a career outside of the classroom. You'll develop the leadership and technology skills you need to be successful. In addition to becoming a teacher, graduates go on to work in the Peace Corps, education administration, social work or nonprofit organizations.
You'll get hands-on experience by working at our on-campus early childhood development center. You'll also benefit from the College's strong partnership with elementary schools in the surrounding area. And, our education programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP) and recognized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
"My research paper explored what it might be like for teachers in the future when presumably we’ll be teaching students how to write without the use of pens and paper. I think I’ll be ready for that moment, and I know I’m getting great preparation for that role with this major."
