Secondary Education


The secondary education major prepares you to become a competent, successful high school teacher. You'll mold minds and shape behavior.


Why major in Secondary Education?

Embark upon a rewarding teaching career where you will make a difference in the lives of others. This program prepares you to teach in public or private high schools. It also prepares your for a career in administration, counseling, curriculum or social work. You'll develop skills in written and oral communication, leadership and classroom management.

Why study Secondary Education at CofC?

At the College, our secondary education program develops exceptional teachers who prepare future generations of learners and leaders. This major is available to students who also major in one of the following: biology, chemistry, English, history, mathematics, physics, political science or sociology. In the program, you'll have ample opportunity to enhance your education through professional development sessions in a program nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
